Lake Manyara National Park is well known for the tree climbing lions, the soda ash lake and its flamingos, we are talking about breathtaking scenery! Lake Manyara has a big number of elephants, so many giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, impala, Waterbuck and warthog, small known shy Kik’s dik dik as well as Klipspringer along the ramps of the escarpment. Leopards are hosted within the broken forests and escarpment, mighty lions that are widely known for their tree climbing pranks. Lake Manyara is regarded as to have Africa’s largest huge herds of baboons.
At a nice spot we will stop for a picnic lunch. At the end of the afternoon you will make your way to your next accommodation.
Day 5: Lake Manyara National Park
Mto wa Mbu is a green oasis in Maasai area. As there is a lot of water around rice and bananas grow easily. The town attracts people from all over the country. In Mto wa Mbu more than 40 tribes are living peacefully together.
On the mountain bike you will make a 2 hour cycling tour on a flat area. During the tour you will pass the local farmers, schools, churches and local bars. The guide will stop and let you taste red bananas. Local mama’s have prepared a local lunch for you.
Day 6: Central Serengeti
After breakfast you will start descending into the plains. Today is one big game drive, wherever you drive, you can encounter animals. And in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area you get a fantastic chance to look at how the Maasai live, when passing their “boma’s” (villages) or when watching them herd their cattle in the vast Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
The name Serengeti is derived from the Maasai word Siringiti: endless plains. When entering the Serengeti it becomes clear quite soon that this is a very fitting name. As far as the eye reaches you find the plains, only interrupted by an occasional tree, kopje (rock formation) or wildlife. During the Great Migration these planes are literally covered in animals, wildebeests and zebras, in search of grazing and water and participating in one of the largest annual movements of mammals on earth.
However, Serengeti National Park has more to offer than the Great Migration, large herds of Buffalo's, numerous different kinds of Antelopes like the Topi, Hartebeest, Dik Dik, Thomson and Grant Gazelles and it is the best chance of spotting a Lion, or more accurately: Lions. The open plains form an ideal hunting ground for the fastest mammal on earth: the Cheetah.
At the end of the afternoon you will go to your accommodation for dinner and overnight. Here you will stay for three nights.
Days 7 - 8: Central Serengeti
Wake up early in the morning and enjoy a delicious breakfast. Your driver is ready again to take you back inside the park in search for more wildlife! You can chose to take lunchboxes with you to have the full day in the park or go back to the camp for lunch and maybe relax a little.
The driver takes you on a search for the lions, leopard and cheetah. And what did you think of these large numbers of hippos in one of the pools in the park, or maybe the Vervet Monkeys or Baboons manage to charm you with their acrobatic tricks. Giraffes that elegantly move over the planes, high above everything and everyone, eating the leaves from the acacia trees without even bothering about the thorns, the gracious flights of the (not so gracious) Vultures, Hyenas trying to defend their prey from the lions. All in all a day full of unforgettable impressions!
At the end of the afternoon you will return to your lodge/camp for a sundowner and dinner.
Day 9: Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Today you have to rise early as your driver will take you to one of the most special places on this planet: The Ngorongoro Crater. The Crater is the largest intact caldera in the world, and before you descent in the crater you have a beautiful view from the crater rim.
The crater is a non-active volcano, to reach the crater floor you have to make quite a descent. In the Ngorongoro crater the diversity in animals and flora is immense. All the animals of the “Big Five” (elephant, Black Rhino, Buffaloes, Leopard and the Lion) can be found in the crater. Today it is your chance to see the rare Black Rhino. In Lake Magadi, the alkaline lake in the crater, Flamingos look for their food while Hippos cool down in the sweet water pools after their grazing outing at night. In the Lerai Forest Elephant with giant tusks pull leaves and branches from the trees while on the plains Wildebeests, Zebras and Antelopes are grazing. Lions often look for the shade, sometimes even the shade of a car. The high numbers of animals and the imposing landscape with the crater walls make a day in the crater and overwhelming experience.
At the end of the afternoon you will make your way to your next overnight accommodation.
Days 10 - 14: Jambiani
After breakfast you will be transferred to Arusha airport. It is about 2,5 hours drive. There you will say goodbye to the driver guide of the last week.

At Zanzibar airport a driver will be waiting for you to bring you to Jambiani, it is a 1 hour drive.
The next nights you will stay at Fun Beach Hotel.
The hotel has 40 rooms. There are beach front rooms and rooms in the back with their own swimming pool. All the rooms are the same and are located next to each other with big swimming pools with a total length of 63 meters in the middle. The hotel is located directly to the beach. Every bungalow has a private garden and veranda over-looking the swimming pools and the sea from the terrace.
All rooms have a double bed and a single sofa bed, for a maximum of 3 persons in a room. There is air conditioning in all the rooms. All rooms have 2 bicycles which are offered as complimentary.
The village of Jambiani is an authentic fishing village and is far from mass tourism and the big resorts. Beside the beautiful beach you will also experience some local life at the beach. Children playing at the beach, men working on their fishing boats and women gardening sea weed during low tide.
The atmosphere at Fun Beach Hotel is casual and trendy.
Via the beach it is easy to visit other accommodations for a lunch, dinner or a drink. But watch the tides: the difference between low and high tide on Zanzibar is big. When the tides change, the sea becomes beautiful colors.
In Jambiani there is always a nice wind. That is why you will see kite surfers and other water-sports being done.
At Fun Beach Hotel there is a game room, tv room, a watersport desk and free wifi in the entire hotel.
