Days 1 - 4: Cape Town

You'll be met at Cape Town International airport and transferred to Sea Five, a boutique hotel in trendy Camps Bay.

On day two your rental hire vehicle will be delivered. You can spend your days independently exploring Cape Town and environs: Table Mountain, V&A Waterfront, Camps Bay, Clifton's beaches, Kirstenbosch Gardens, Kloof and Long Streets, Robben Island, Bo-Kaap, Boulders Beach, the Cape of Good Hope and Chapman's Peak. Overnight at Sea Five.

Days 5 - 6: Whale Coast

Drive (approx. 2 hrs) along the Southern Whale Coast to Mosaic Farm, a remote nature sanctuary between Hermanus and the Overburg Mountains. Spend 2 days visiting Walker Bay beach and doing activities on the nature reserve: whale watching, quad biking, kayaking, guided nature walks, bird watching, and whale watching from Hermanus in season (June-Nov).

Days 7 - 8: Franschhoek

Drive (approx. 2hrs) to the historic Cape Winelands and check into Babylonstoren, a 240-hectare working wine and fruit farm. Spend 2 days exploring the estate and its gardens, relaxing in the spa or by the pool, and eating in the amazing restaurant. You're close to Franschhoek, Stellenbosch and Paarl for world-class wineries and restaurants.

Days 9 - 11: Sabi Sand Nature Reserve

Return hire car to Cape Town International airport and take a domestic flight (price not included) to Skukuza airport. Shared transfer to Lion Sands River safari lodge in the Southern Sabi Game Reserve. The 20 luxury raised suites all have private viewing decks, and there's an amazing central area, too. Spend 3 days doing game drives, bush walks and visiting local villages. Overnight at Lion Sands.

Day 12: Sabi Sand Nature Reserve

Sleep-out experience in Kingston Treehouse (a wood-and-glass chalet, 5 mins from the main lodge at Lion Sands). Wildlife roam beneath you while you are tucked away safely in the exclusive hide. 5 minute drive from main lodge.

Day 13: End of Itinerary

Shared road transfer from Lion Sands to Skukuza airport. Tour ends.
