Day 1: Johannesburg

Welcome to South Africa!

Your shuttle service will be waiting for you in the arrival hall. A short drive to the Safari Club where you will spend the night. 

 

Day 2: Madikwe Game Reserve

This morning at 09:00 you will have a Meet & Greet with one of our representatives. Should you have any queries about your trip, this will be your chance to ask them.

Also your rental car will be delivered at your accommodation during the Meet & Greet. Our representative can assist you in taking receipt of your car. 

Drive to Madikwe Game Reserve where you will enjoy your first safari experience. in the untamed bushveld. Home to a tremendous diversity of fauna and flora, Madikwe Game Reserve is the ideal getaway destination! Your stay at Thakadu River Camp will include 2 game drives per night stay as well as all meals. 

  

Day 3: Madikwe Game Reserve

An early start of the day while you go on the look out for the animals while the sun rises. Binoculars and camera ready for the action. When the sun is up you will enjoy a lovely cup of coffee to complete the perfect morning in the African bush.  Back at the lodge a hearty breakfast awaits you. After breakfast it is time to relax with a book or next to the pool. At the end of the afternoon you will join your ranger for another exciting safari. This time while the sun sets over the bushveld. Upon arrival dinner will be served.  

Day 4: Welgevonden Game Reserve

After your morning game drive at Thakadu River Camp and  brunch afterwards you can depart to your next destination.

Nestled deep within the Malaria-free Welgevonden Game Reserve, situated in the breathtaking Waterberg Biosphere is the spectacular Nedile Lodge, where guests are met by pure luxury, warm hospitality and terrific activities to enjoy.
Nedile Lodge offers guests a truly African holiday experience, far from the stress and turmoil of daily life.  

This true bushveld environment is home to some of Africa’s most sought after game species, including white rhino, elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, eland and many other varieties of antelope. There may even be the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the aardvark, brown hyena, spotted hyena or rarely seen honey badger.

Your ranger will be waiting for you at the end of the afternoon to take you on safari. 

 

Day 5: Welgevonden Game Reserve

Nedile Lodge offers game viewing in open vehicles as well as guided walks, afford guests the opportunity to get up-close and personal with some of Africa’s untamed and most majestic creatures, as well as the magnificent plant life which abounds in this region of the country. The reserve is well stocked with lion, leopard, cheetah, wildebeest, rhino, elephant, zebra, giraffe and many other mammals, birds and trees.

Both game drives through the untamed African wilderness and guided walks are conducted by experienced game rangers and are guaranteed to provide travelers with a new and unique view of nature and its splendor, whilst traversing undulating hills, following river courses and exploring open grass plains. After enjoying one of the spectacular game viewing activities, you are invited to cool down in the refreshing rock swimming pool, overlooking the valley below.

After dinner spend some time on the deck with only the flickering light of lanterns and the stars for company. Learn about the different constellations; from Orion and Taurus in the summer to Scorpio in the winter, with the Southern Cross to guide us. Understand more about the ocean of twinkling lights in the heavens above, including stories about the stars from the African perspective. A perfect evening in South Africa! 

 

Day 6: Mapesu Private Game Reserve

After the last morning safari and breakfast it is time to say goodbye and continue your journey to another spectacular part of the Limpopo province, Mapungubwe National Park. 

Set right up against the northern border of South Africa, uniting Botswana and Zimbabwe, lies Mapungubwe National Park - an extensive savannah landscape situated at the meeting place of the Limpopo and Shashe rivers. This is the land of sandstone formations, mopane woodlands, brooding baobabs, ancient floodplains and unique riverine forests that form a dramatic backcloth for the wealth of animal life - elephant, giraffe, buffalo, white rhino, gemsbok and other antelope, extensive bir life, and the more elusive mammal like hyenas, leopards and lions. 

You will stay at Mopane Bush Lodge adjacent to the Mapungubwe National Park on the Mapesu Private Game Reserve, a 7200-hectare property surrounded by unique sandstone formations, mopane bushveld and a myriad of wildlife. The reserve focuses on biodiversity, conservation and the protection and reintroduction of species including efforts specifically on endangered animals.

As part of this tour, you will be given the opportunity to visit the elite graveyard at the top of Mapungubwe Hill, view a natural amphitheater and the entire spectrum of the region, and traverse the territory once walked upon by the ancestral Mapungubwe People - now roamed by four of the Big 5. 

Guided Sunset Drive or Night drive

Enjoy a sunset drive or night drive, in the comfort of a game vehicle. The perfect backdrop to view the wild animals. Although you’ll see plenty of game while driving on your own, you’ll learn more about the park and animals on a guided sunset or night drive.  

Day 7: Mapesu Private Game Reserve

Enjoy a range of different activities in this beautiful area. Of course a visit to the Mapungubwe National Park as well as the Mapungubwe Hill, the centre of the World Heritage Landscape where the first southern African kingdom was established in the 13th Century and San rock art sites. Other attractions include baobabs, the Limpopo River, game viewing and birding. 

Day 8: Soutpansberg Mountain Range

It is time to leave the Mapungubwe National Park behind and continue your journey to the Soutpansberg Mountain Range. Madi a Thava is ideally situated to explore the area and to get to know the local arts & crafts community. Ask one of the guides to join you and let them explain everything to you. The lifestyle tour offers a mixture of modern and traditional life in predominantly TshiVenda-speaking areas. It goes through rural villages and end up in Thohoyandou, meaning Head of the Elephant, the capital of Venda and surroundings

Day 9: Soutpansberg Mountain Range

Day 10: Northern Kruger

It is time to go on safari again! Enter the northern part of the Kruger National Park and explore the park with your own vehicle. Binoculars and camera ready, but make sure you dont leave your vehicle! At the end of the afternoon check in at Punda Maria Rest Camp where you will spend the night. 

Day 11: Northern Kruger

Travel through the Kruger National Park to Shingwedzi, a small rest camp. 

Day 12: Manyeleti Private Game Reserve

Another exciting safari adventures awaits, today you arrive at Honeyguide Mantobeni in the Manyeleti Private Game Reserve, an oasis of luxury amidst the untamed beauty of the surrounding Kruger wilderness. Experience the true magic of the African bush at Honeyguide Camps. Designed to blend in with the wilderness, this luxury tented safari camp is found in the Manyeleti Private Game Reserve, the reserve shares unfenced borders with the Kruger National Park and is in the heart of Big 5 country.  

Join your ranger for exciting game drives and / or bush walks. Learn about the animals, but also the footsteps, trees and plants as well as insects and other small animals that make the bush so unique. 

Day 13: Manyeleti Private Game Reserve

Guided morning walking safari & Guided afternoon Game Drive.

Walking safaris are perhaps the most authentic way to experience the African bush. It’s only on foot that you cease to be an observer and become part of the environment, truly taking in the uniqueness of your surroundings and all the smaller components that make up the broader ecosystem. On foot in the bush you will feel a sense of belonging to something much bigger than yourself.

 

Day 14: Hazyview

After breakfast and a last safari activity drive via the beautiful Panorama route to Hazyview, the last location of your South African Wildlife Adventure. 

Day 15: Hazyview

Take it easy today or book one of the adrenaline activities such as rafting or horse riding! 

Day 16: End of Itinerary

Today is the last day of your trip. After breakfast you'll take a drive to OR Tambo Airport in Johannesburg for your international flight.
