8 DAY PREMIUM TENTED LODGE & MOZAMBIQUE RESORT DISCOVERY

DAY 1: HOEDSPRUIT AIRPORT TO BUFFALO LUXURY TENTED CAMP

Arriving at Hoedspruit airport your guide will be waiting to transfer you to Buffalo tented Camp in Kapama Private Game Reserve.

After checking into your safari tent, you can relax unpack and enjoy some lunch at the lodge. Around 15;30 pm you will gather around the reception for your first afternoon/sunset safari driver.

Returning to the lodge in the early evening you have some time to freshen up before dinner is served.

DAY 2: SAFARIS ON KAPAMA PRIVATE GAME RESERVE

The day starts with an early wake-up call between 5:00 am and 5:30 am. Tea, coffee, and rusks are enjoyed together before heading out at first light. While seeing the big 5 is always exhilarating, there are many other smaller species that are also captivating. Halfway through the game drive, there’s a stop for hot drinks and snacks, before returning to the lodge at around 9:00 am for a full breakfast.

At around 3:30 pm, everyone gathers for a decadent high tea, before heading out with your ranger and tracker for the afternoon game drive through the reserve. En route, you’ll stop for a sundowner drink and will have a chance to stretch your legs as you watch the sunset over the distant peaks of the Drakensberg mountains.

As darkness falls, the nocturnal animals of the bush come out. The skilled tracker will scan the landscape using a spotlight, which illuminates animals’ eyes. A variety of completely different species can be seen on the night drive back to the lodge. Arrival is at the lodge is usually around 7:00 pm, allowing time to freshen up before enjoying a sumptuous dinner.

BUSHWALKS

Experience the African bush on foot under the guidance of a skilled ranger. Your guide will point out medicinal plants, insects, and birdlife along the way, and share traditional tracking skills such as using animal footprints and scat to identify animals.

This truly memorable, authentic, and intimate encounter with nature and our wildlife is included in the tariffs.

DAY 3: KAPAMA GAME RESERVE TO JOHANNEBSURG

The final day of your Safari will see you go on one last safari drive before returning to the lodge for a traditional breakfast.  After breakfast, you will be transferred to Hoedspruit Airport for your flight to OR Tambo International Airport (own account ).

A driver will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel for the evening, the rest of the afternoon is spent at your own leisure. Dinner will be enjoyed at the hotel restaurant that evening. 

DAY 4: JOHANNESBURG TO VILANCULOS IN MOZAMBIQUE

This morning after a leisurely breakfast you will be transferred back to OR Tambo for your flight to Vilanculos Airport ( own account ).

A driver will be waiting to transfer you to your beachside hotel, after checking into your room the rest of the day is spent at your own leisure.

DAY 5 - 7: VILANCULOS MOZAMBIQUE

Nestled above the red cliffs of Kingfisher Bay in Vilanculos, Santorini's’ unfurling view of the archipelago islands and curling mainland in the distance is unsurpassable. Santorini Mozambique is like a small Greek village in the heart of a raw African landscape – a magical combination.

Nicknamed the ‘Pearl of the Indian Ocean’, the Bazaruto Archipelago is a much-coveted travel destination in Mozambique. It is known for its white sandy beaches, glistening turquoise waters, and some of the best scuba diving in the world.

As one of the largest marine reserves in the Indian Ocean, the archipelago supports over 2000 species of fish, as well as dolphins, whales, turtles, and sharks. It also holds the largest population of Dugong in Mozambique.

The archipelago consists of 5 islands: Bazaruto, Benguerra, Magaruque, Banque, and Santa Carolina. It is a birders paradise, with a recorded list of over 180 species. You’ll also find 45 reptile and amphibian species; Suni antelope, red duiker, endemic butterflies, and the characteristic Samango monkey on the islands within the national park.

Being on the mainland, our guests have the opportunity to experience everything this magical place has to offer. From spending a day out on the magical waters surrounded by the flamboyance of flamingos to exploring the colorful markets and local shops of Vilanculos town.

We have an assorted of kayaks, stand up paddleboards, snorkeling gear, fishing gear, and even a gym in a bag for a quick workout session or yoga on the sunset patio as the sun rises above the silhouette of Magaruque Island. These are all complimentary, onsite activities.

DAY 8: DEPARTURE DAY

After breakfast, you check out from the hotel for your transfer back to the airport,  arriving at Vilanculos Airport your tour with us ends for your onward flight home.
