Day 1: Antananarivo

Welcome to Madagascar, your first night is in the capital, Antananarivo!

Day 2: Toliara

Today you will transfer to airport and fly down to Toliara. Spend a night in town where you can stock up on things you will need. Recommend money, ample batteries and camera memory cards because you are going really remote - and lots of snacks from supermarket as shops will become roadside stalls.

Days 3 - 5: Ranohira

Excitingly, you now head out to Isalo and we can arrange to visit Zombitse and possibly Vohibasia depending on time and road conditions. Keep in mind Madagascar requires patience, open mind, tough skin and spine (roads are predominantly absolutely shocking in rural areas such as this)

Days 6 - 7: Ranomafana

Today continue the journey to Ranomafana. Setam Lodge is the go to property in the area with comfortable accommodation, good facilities and friendly service.

Day 8: Ambositra

You need another day to break up the journey to Andasibe and we like to not always have that in Tana so you can see more. Hotel Artisan is lovely in Ambositra.

Days 9 - 10: Andasibe

It's quite a full day drive and then you arrive at the Andasibe-Mantadia region. Whilst accommodation is limited, it is well worth the visit. The giant Indri is a phenomenal experience and each of our guests have raved about the wildlife viewing.

Day 11: Antananarivo

Another day in Tana. You'll arrive in the afternoon though so you may like to explore town and visit a local restaurant. Staff at the Hotel can help with that. Or simply relax and enjoy the views from the hotel's dining deck.

Days 12 - 13: Morondava

Fly to Morondava today and spend two nights there as a base and explore Kirindy National Park which we will arrange for day and night - night is best chances at more of the wildlife and predator sightings aka - Fossa. Please follow guide instruction at all times. Camping no longer possible due to Fossa attacks on humans for their food! So they are a bit like Honeybadgers and can be really dangerous and aggressive.

Days 14 - 15: Bekopaka

you will need at least 2 or 3 nights in the Tsingy region because it's not an easy 'get to' and once there you really will want to explore as the views and formations are something unique and very special.

Activities and Services

Day 16: Morondava

Then it's back for 1 night just due to logistics and flight times.

Day 17: Antananarivo

Then it's time to head back to Tana and a night here is a good buffer because tomorrow you connect with a regional flight.

Days 18 - 20: Masoala National Park

To explore this region, you really need vast amounts of time. So I recommend you fly to Maroantsetra and have minimum 3 nights at the Forest Lodge. Then don't try to also see Adapa's Marojejy NP.

If you want to change that, you can fly into Sambava and explore from there out to Andapa which is easily reached by car.

Day 21: Antananarivo

Then your last night is back in Tana!

Day 22: End of Itinerary
