SIGHTINGS
Although sightings in the bush depend on a number of factors from the skill of your guide to the season of travel (and often just sheer luck), Nxai Pan is one of the more reliable areas to search for cheetahs and the black-maned Kalahari lion. Desert-adapted species such as kudu, gemsbok, springbok, ostriches and giraffes are often easily spotted here with unusual carnivores such as bat-eared foxes and even brown hyena sometimes featuring. This is also a great place for birders to watch secretary birds and kori bustards strutting their stuff out on the open pans.
