The nature surrounding St James is colourful: soft, golden sand is lapped by the white-fringed waves of blue water while mountains and flourishing, green vegetation form the backdrop. It’s the bright, multi-coloured Victorian bathing huts, however, that receive the most attention from tourists and photographers alike. The large, protected tidal pool makes St James popular with families, though it’s best to avoid this beach over the Christmas period when it can get very crowded.
