The Sangha Lodge gorilla tracking is situated in Bayanga, Central African Republic. The camp has access to two groups of habituated gorillas in Dzanga-Sangha. Each gorilla group is allocated a maximum of 2 visit per day, and each visit is allowed a maximum of 3 tourists. So there is never more than 12 people tracking gorillas on any one day.

Bai Hokou camp is the departure point for gorilla tracking and other forest activities including the Bai Walk, bird watching and Mangabey Tracking. The walk to find gorillas can be strenuous and a reasonable level of fitness is required, groups are advised to divide themselves according to their fitness levels.

When viewing the gorillas, the time allowed to spend with them is limited to 1 hour and you should respect the 7 metre distance rule between yourself and these gentle giants. To protect the gorillas' health and safety, anyone with a cold, diarrhoea or other transmittable diseases is not allowed to participate, as gorillas are susceptible to human diseases. Sanga staff and guides have the final say on whether or not you are fit to track on the day.
