A trip up Table Mountain is quite rightly one of the first things a tourist wants to do when arriving in Cape Town.

Table Mountain is the most iconic landmark of South Africa, the only flat-topped mountain in the world and one of the NEW7WONDERS of Nature. Starting with spectacular 360-degree views from the rotating cable car, you then marvel at the abundant views 1000m above the city below, and the awesome display of unique “fynbos” vegetation with a variety of over 2,200 species. The most common mammal found on the mountain, the “dassie” (pronounced “dussy”) or rock hyrax, is about 50 cm long, like a marmot but surprisingly more closely related to the elephant and manatee.
