The Vat Phou is a luxurious steel-hulled teak barge of Oriental design that offers three-day cruises on the mighty Mekong River. The journey starts and ends in Pakse, and the itinerary includes a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Vat Phou ruins at Champassak, the mysterious Oum Muong ruins at Huei Thamo, the 4,000 Islands, and the Phapheng waterfall. Guests are accommodated in 12 fully air-conditioned twin cabins with private bathrooms, two of which are on the upper deck, and the rest on the lower deck along with the dining room and the galley. The upper deck has a shaded area at each end of the boat with comfortable furniture and tea/coffee or bar service. The bar is located on the rear deck and breakfast and lunch are usually served in this area.
