Perched on the northern edge of Kajiado County, approximately 25 kilometres southwest of Nairobi, Ngong Hills Forest Reserve spans 3,077 hectares of undulating terrain. Its iconic knuckle-shaped ridges overlook the expansive Great Rift Valley, with views extending to Mount Kilimanjaro on clear days. The area is steeped in colonial history, with remnants of European-style homes and connections to Karen Blixen's *Out of Africa*. Diverse flora, including indigenous acacia and croton trees, intertwine with exotic pine and cypress. Wildlife such as buffalo, gazelles, and baboons roam the reserve. Activities include hiking, picnicking, and camping, with trails providing panoramic vistas. Rangers accompany visitors for safety.
