Mopiri consists of ten spacious en-suite tents that are set on the banks of Weboro Lagoon offering panoramic views. Long winding board walks between the main area and the tents offer guests privacy and the opportunity to stretch their legs and explore the island.
It offers a true water experience. Possible activities include boat trips, bush walks, mokoro trips, birding, fishing, sunset cruises, lagoon sundowners / dinners. We also offer full day boating safaris into the heart of the Delta and private fly camping experiences. Helicopter flights over the Delta can be arranged ad hoc and can be combined with a trip to Tsodilo Hills or a village tour. Bush walks on our private island are great for birding. We have a spa available with a variety of treatments available that can be booked in advance or in camp.
The tents are light and airy and have 2x three quarter beds (convert to king on request) and bathrooms with large rain showers, twin sinks and WC. The bathrooms are adjoined to the rooms by a short corridor making the most of the view over the lagoon.

Off to the side is the adjoining second bedroom with two single beds, which can also be made up as a triple. The room has one bathroom with large rain showers and twin sinks, which is adjoined to the rooms by a short corridor making the most of the lagoon views.

Osprey is a double storey barge and the perfect way to spend the morning or for a sundowner after a long day. Approx. 2-3 hours.
Boat into the heart of the Delta, island hop by mokoro, and explore the area on foot, before stopping for lunch and a spot of fishing. Full day trip.
Mopiri is a prime destination for lure fishing. Tigerfish are indigenous to the area and as one of the world’s most dramatic freshwater game fish this is a uniquely thrilling angling opportunity for both experienced and novice fishermen. Up to eight other species can also be caught on line, creating some great fishermen’s tales to tell back home! (Please note that fishing is prohibited in January and February throughout Botswana when fish are breeding).

From the low vantage point of a Mokoro you get to experience a local tradition that has defined the way safaris are run in the Okavango Delta. Approx. 5 hours incl. boat ride to mokoro station. (Water and flood level dependant).

Mopiri has been used as the launch site for numerous “National Geographic Okavango Wilderness Project” Delta wetland bird surveys, as well as being used to host education workshops with teachers from local schools in community outreach programmes. Researchers are available to give talks on their work and the Okavango Delta for those that are interested. (Please book in advance).

Four rocky hills, including Botswana's highest point, jut strikingly out of the surrounding Kalahari Desert
plains to form Tsodilo, a UNESCO World Heritage Sitein the remote northwest of the country; a definite a 'must see' for those seeking more than wildlife from their time in Botswana.
The hills are one of the most historically significant rock sites in the world, with over 500 paintings, and some believed to be over 20,000 years old. This gives you the opportunity to visit 2 UNESCO world heritage sites in a day. We have use of a helicopter that is based very close to Mopiri. You can be picked up by heli, enjoy a 30 minute scenic flight to the hills, spend time exploring the site, enjoy a lunch, and then fly back to the lodge.

After exploring the lagoon and channels from Mopiri by boat, being able to see the landscape from the air offers an incredible alternative perspective. The scenic helicopter flight offers the chance to see the meandering channels and waterways, the expansive flood plains and even a chance to spot many animal species from the air. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity that must not be missed. The doors are removed from the helicopter on scenic flights for unrestricted views which offers great photographic opportunities.
