The camp is built at the foot of the Great Tsau Hill in a 40,000-hectare (98,842 acres) private concession, within the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. The Great Tsau Hill is the only topographical relief in the entire 50,000km2 CKGR, offering spectacular panoramic views over the savannah.
The CKGR offers diverse animal and plant life in the semi-arid land, making it an ideal complement to the rest of the Roots & Journeys collection. Look out for brown hyena, aardvark, Kalahari lions, aardwolves, gemsbok, springbok and bat-eared foxes.
Adventures are focused on game drives, night drives, authentic bushmen experiences, e-bike safaris, and walking trails.

Explore our private concession, keeping an eye out for brown hyena, aardvark, Kalahari lions, aardwolves, gemsbok, springbok and bat-eared foxes, to name but a few.
The bush holds many secrets if you know how and where to look! Your Nature Host will point out tracks and signs of animals, insects, birds, trees and many other fascinating aspects of this unique environment, with the potential of big game sightings in the company of an experienced guide. Approx. 2-3 hours. (Children 12 years and older).
Spend some time getting to know and learning more about the family's daily routine. This could include spoor identification, animal tracking, food gathering, trapping, hut building, craft making, games, making fire and finishing the day experiencing a trance dance. Planning these experiences are done at the lodge taking into account the San Family’s daily routine.

Cycle through the open pans, and get close up to wildlife on this silent safari. Duration: 2-3 hours. (Children 12 years and older - Participants skills levels will be assessed prior to departure.)

The Kalahari is the perfect place to enjoy a ‘Safari of the Stars’. The area has zero light pollution and Nature Hosts take you on a galactic journey while you lie perfectly still with the heavens as your roof.
This experience takes you on a walkway onto Great Tsau Hill. Have your breath taken away by the panoramic views with the sheer expanse of the CKGR at your feet. Best time to experience this is before sunset to get you in the perfect spot to share sundowners with nature.
