Located at the western end of the Grampian Mountains in Scotland, Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in the British Isles. The summit features the ruins of an observatory from 1883 which was permanently staffed until its closure in 1904. The mountain is a major attraction for climbers and mountaineers, with the main attraction being the 600 metre high cliffs at the north face. The cliffs are amongst the highest cliffs in Britain, and are home to some of the best scrambles and rock climbs with all levels of difficulty. Parking is available at the Glen Nevis Visitor Centre as well as at the Braveheart Car Park.
