Situated outside the port of Brodick on the Isle of Arran, the Brodick Castle is owned by the National Trust for Scotland. Previously the seat of the Dukes of Hamilton, the castle is packed with treasures that include period furniture, paintings, silverware, porcelain and sporting trophies. The park surrounding the castle is the only island country park and extends from seashore to mountaintop. Visitors to the castle can explore the formal gardens and ponds, discover the waterfalls and follow the meandering woodland trails to discover a variety of wildlife. The grounds are open to visitors daily, all year round from 10:00 to 17:00.
