The Isle of Arran is located in southwestern Scotland, within the firth of Clyde and near the important hub of Glasgow. Famously referred to as an expression of ‘Scotland in miniature’, the Isle of Arran is home to a wonderful array of sights and attractions. The village of Brodick boasts the interesting Arran Heritage Museum, as well as the imposing Brodick Castle and a tucked-away Brewery lying at the bottom of the footpath leading to Arran’s highest peak, Goat Fell. South-lying Lamlash offers boat trips to Holy Island, while, north of Brodick, visitors will find the Corrie Caves, the atmospheric ruins of Lochranza Castle and Arran Distillery, specialising in single malt whiskey. Finally, the Machrie Moor Stone Circles form an ancient burial site on the west coast of the island.
