Dating from the 15th to the 19th century, Hoi An Ancient Town is a well preserved South-East Asian trading port located on the north bank of the Thu Bon River, in Vietnam’s central Quang Nam Province. Reflecting a fusion of indigenous and foreign cultures, the town comprises of timber frame buildings with brick and wooden walls. Featuring architectural monuments, commercial and domestic structures, as well as an open market, a ferry quay and pagodas, the town’s original street plan remains.
