Located in the center of Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi, Vietnam, the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is a large memorial honoring the national hero, President Ho Chi Minh. Modeled on Lenin's mausoleum in Russia, construction of the historical structure began in 1973 and was open to the public in 1975.

The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum holds the embalmed remains of Vietminh leader Ho Chi Minh, and is situated at the place where he read the Declaration of Independence on 2 September 1945, establishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.
