Resting along the coast of the Arabian Sea in the southwest Indian state of Goa, Anjuna Beach is a laidback little beach village set on a beautiful sandy cove with a lovely 2-kilometre-long stretch of beach. This popular seaside destination is best known for its alternative hippy atmosphere and its lively trance music festivals, which take place throughout the high tourist season from October to April. Visitors can also look forward to enjoying a variety of vibrant local bars and restaurants (many of which feature live music), as well as shopping for bargains at the sprawling flea market held during the day on Wednesdays and on Saturday evenings. Other popular activities include jet skiing, paragliding, taking yoga classes or simply hiring a scooter and exploring the the village’s small back streets and the more remote southern beach area.
