The Anhumas Abyss is one of the most sensational caves in the Anhumas Valley and offers different tours from contemplation only, to snorkeling and diving.
Visitors must necessarily present themselves one day before the tour at the reservations center, located in the city center where safety procedures will be explained, the risk acknowledgment form will be filled out, visitors will try on the Neoprene suit (for those participating in floating and scuba diving), and the tour schedule will be confirmed. We always schedule this tour on the day itself because only at the checkpoint on the day before the tour is the tour schedule determined. Therefore, the departure and start time of the tour are defined on the day of the checkpoint. If a visitor cancels on the day of the tour, they will not be entitled to a refund.
Upon arrival at the reception area, the staff will provide some instructions and equip the visitor to start the tour; descent and ascent will be done via winch. The Abyss is a cave rich in geological formations amidst abundant crystal-clear waters, providing adrenaline and fascination to its visitors. It's 72 meters from the cave entrance to the floating platform built over the lake of crystal-clear waters, with a depth of 80 meters and the size of a soccer field.
After the descent, the group takes a 30-minute inflatable boat ride inside the cave, where they can observe geological formations and various speleothems, such as cones, stalactites, and stalagmites. Afterward, the boat returns to the platform, and visitors equip themselves to begin the circular floating experience, where they can see, through the water's transparency, cone formations reaching up to 19 meters in height. The attraction does not have a reception area with bathrooms (only portable toilet).
