In the heart of the Okavango Delta's Kwara Private Reserve, Splash Camp sits around a natural waterhole that attracts game all year round. The camp features ten en-suite tents and two guide tents of the same standard, all decorated in a sleek, contemporary style and positioned on a raised deck with an individual veranda overlooking the waterhole. The Kwando philosophy of being immersed in nature is reflected in its modern yet simple decor, and all rooms are open to the sounds of the bush.
Being in a permanent water location, Splash Camp provides year-round activities such as game drives, walking safaris, boat cruises, mokoro rides, and seasonal fishing. The open-air central space, which benefits from the cooling breeze, houses the bar, lounge, and dining area.
Guests can swim in the pool or visit the safari shop. A light breakfast is served daily by the waterhole, and in the evenings, stories are told around the fire pit after supper.
Each of the tents are situated around the natural waterhole, two of these include family tents.
A double consists of a super-king, extra length and a twin consists of two ¾ beds, extra length beds. Also include ceiling fan, standing fan, coffee table and armchairs, charging station, writing desk, open hanging space & shelving for clothes, digital safe, spare blankets, and bug / insect repellents are provided.
All tents are elevated on wooden platforms with a small private viewing deck with armchairs and side table. En-suite, indoor and outdoor showers, separate flushing toilet, hot and cold-water supply, twin vanity units and gowns are provided.
Both family tents include en-suite double bedroom and a separate second twin bedroom, sharing one bathroom. Minimum age is six years and families travelling with children aged 6–12 years are required to book private activities unless they book Splash Enclave exclusively which requires min 6 full paying adults and then the min age is waived. Families travelling with children under 12 years are required to book private activities.
Kwando’s Private Enclaves operate as ‘private camps within a camp’ that bring enhanced exclusivity and privacy to small group travel.
Splash's Private Enclave is a private mini-main area tucked away on the south side of the Splash lagoon where a group can enjoy their own private dining, lounge, bar, pool and fireplace on an exclusive basis (although they are free to explore and enjoy the amenities of the wider camp).
The Private Enclave offers dedicated staff and, combined with a Private Guide for your group, this means you get a tailored schedule where activities and downtime are planned around your particular interests.
The Private Enclave can be booked for 2 to 10 people and are ideally suited to VVIPs, friends and family, photographic and academic groups, and any safari where you are looking for a more exclusive experience.
