Bellagio is situated in Lombardy, in the north of Italy, and is known as the ‘Pearl of Lake Como’ for good reason. Begin your exploration at the glorious botanical gardens at Villa Melzi, before continuing to Punta Spartivento, Bellagio’s northernmost point, where a park provides an excellent place to unwind and enjoy views of the lake. Next, follow the steep street of Salita Serbelloni from the waterfront, stopping in at boutique stores and cellars (such as Enoteca la Principessa) along the way. For a day of exercise along with the views, explore a network of hiking trails in the so-called Larian Triangle, or cycle to the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Ghisallo, the sport’s patron saint.
