Leeu House, our serene oasis on the main street of vibrant Franschhoek, only welcomes guests 18 years and older and is set in secluded gardens with a pool and terrace. Surrounded by award-winning restaurants, wine farms and speciality shops, guests are spoilt for choice. With a range of individually styled rooms and lavish comfort, the hotel is perfect for discerning guests who require the discreet tranquillity of a mature environment. Children are welcomed when the hotel is booked exclusively.
An average size of 35m²/377ft², two of these four comfortable and spacious rooms have full bathrooms; the other two have large walk-in showers.

Guests can also book tranquil picnics amidst sweeping views of valley and mountains with a glass of fine wine in hand, and a perfect al fresco repast on selected locations and around sister property, Leeu Estates.

Is home to Great Heart Wines, which is a staff empowerment project of Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines. Established in 2020, this winery is 100% owned and run by the employees of both the Mullineux and Leeu Passant wineries who directly profit from the wine sales and see the shareholders involved in all the stages of the viticulture and winemaking.

Indaba – The Meeting Place at Leeu Estates is a state-of-the-art multipurpose event and meeting venue available for all in-house Leeu Collection guests. The light-filled space, with its open roof trusses, tall windows, timber floors and natural finishes, perfectly complements the collection of art and sculptures.
The well-appointed venue can accommodate up to 60 guests (cocktail) both inside and on the terrace overlooking the beautiful valley and mountain landscape for a variety of private parties, exhibitions and product launches.
Press briefings, seminars, business meetings and management think tank sessions for up to 20 guests can be accommodated in boardroom, schoolroom or U-shaped seating. Cinema seating can accommodate up to 60 guests. Indaba, which is 140 square metres (1 510 square feet) in size and has its own lift, boasts audio and video conferencing equipment, a 203-centimetre (80-inch) television screen and high-speed Wi-Fi. Catering for Indaba is done by The Dining Room culinary team.

The Leeu Collection’s founder, Analjit Singh (aka BAS), is a partner in Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines with Chris and Andrea Mullineux, the team behind these celebrated wines produced on Roundstone Farm in the Swartland appellation and at Leeu Estates in Franschhoek. By 2021, Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines had notched up over 45 five-star ratings from Platter’s South African Wine Guide since its first release in 2008, and was also named the wine guide’s Winery of the Year in 2014, 2016, 2019, 2020 and 2023 – the first winery in South Africa to achieve this accolade five times. Wine Enthusiast, the prestigious US magazine, named Andrea its 2016 Winemaker of the Year.

Leeu House offers a delicious menu available exclusively to resident guests. Breakfast is served from 07h00 to 10h30. The all-day dining menu (available from 11h00) features light meals with a focus on local produce, served in The Conservatory or al fresco on the terrace, seating up to 24 people.
Visitors looking for an informal fine dining eatery now have the perfect venue in Protégé, featuring stylish casual fare created by a team of talented young chefs headed by Andrew Willemse. The idea with Protégé is to keep it casual and comfortable, hitting all the spots with a refined, flavour-packed approach to casual fine-dining. The kitchen team works with local suppliers to keep the menu as fresh and seasonal as possible. Visitors can choose to dine al fresco or watch the chefs at work in the central show kitchen. Resident guests are invited to take their breakfast here or order in-room dining.
The flavour-packed menu is inspired by the team’s culinary expedition to India, as well as memories of travels through Spain, Japan, Mexico, Denmark and the US, as well as chef Charné Simpson’s own Cape Town family influences. Presented in a home-cooking-style with a refined edge, the experience begins from the moment you sit down, providing an array of delectably curated dishes that showcase the essence of spice (Épice) from around the world.
