El Tajo de Ronda is a gorge splitting the city of Ronda into two parts: the Moorish Old Town of La Ciudad and the modern section of Little Market, El Maercadillo. The 394-foot-deep and 223-foot-wide gorge was formed by erosion, with the Guadalevin River cutting through the canyon, which is spanned by the breathtaking Romanesque arched bridge of Puente Nuevo. Visitors can walk along the banks of the Guadalevin River and on trails through the towering gorge.
