The Palamino River in Colombia, forms part of the border between La Guajira and Magdalena. The river meets the Caribbean Sea near the fishing village of Palomino at the foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountain range. Fishing in the river is part of a day’s work for most of the locals, but for tourists, the main attraction is floating down the river to where it meets the ocean on an inflated inner tube which can be hired from the locals for a nominal amount.
