The Mosquito Waterfall is situated north of Chapada Diamantina National Park, in the State of Bahia. Visitors will walk for about 25 minutes along a river bed to get to the 60m-high waterfall, which is surrounded by rock and vegetation. It is called Mosquito Waterfall due to miners finding very small diamonds in the surrounding area which they called Mosquito. Visitors can swim and bathe in the numerous pools at the base of the waterfall.
