Goanikontes is a stunning resort and camp situated in the lunar landscape of Namibia, amid the Namib Naukluft and Dorob National Parks. The natural surroundings are amazing and the rest camp is just 50 m away from the Swakopmund River. The beautiful moon landscapes strikes the oasis and even the famous Welwitchia grows close by. Take some days to spend in the sunny oasis and enjoy nature and sunshine. Accommodation is offered in comfortable bungalows, each with their own braai facility. In addition, there are twelve shady campsites, each with its own braai facilities, and toilets and showers close by. There is an on-site restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch.
With 350 days of sunshine you will enjoy the big natural swimming pool or explore some footpaths taking you onto the geological fascinating mountains to breathe the marvellous scenery of Goanikontes Oasis and surroundings. A bright variety of birds will always be a reliable companion to you. Come and share the special atmosphere of Goanikontes-Oasis and make use of the opportunity to be in town within only 30 minutes' drive to Swakopmund or 50 minutes' drive to Walvis Bay..
We have two family units that can sleep four people. The two-room bungalows are perfect for families who wish to stay together and enjoy a comfortable afternoon and evening as a family. These units both has 4 single beds in total, with their own bathroom and braai

Camping under big trees. Light available, but no power plug. Plug at ablution block available. Please remember we work on solar power! Warm water supplied by donkey at night. Natural swimming dam.

The highlight of the area is the fantastic otherworldly landscape. The "moon valley area" near Swakopmund is absolutely stunning and watching the sun set over the valley is an unmissable experience that will remain with you forever.
You can see for yourself why the exotic Welwitschia Mirabilis, a plant which can live to up to 2000 years old, has captured the imagination of desert explorers since the 18th century. Other accessible attractions include the Flintstone Caves and Weitzenberg Ruins.
If you like to hike, then Goanikontes Oasis is the perfect place to lace up your hiking boots and get on a trail. There are 3 hiking trails that will lead you to adventures in the lunar landscape that surrounds our rest camp.
For those who prefer to use two wheels, there couldn’t be a better location for mountain biking. Hire one of our bikes and explore some of the superb rugged terrain that has lured thousands of trail riders over the years. We can recommend the best trails and are on hand to offer advice and assistance to cyclists of all experience levels.
