Located in the Andaman Sea between Phuket and the mainland of southern Thailand, beautiful Phang Nga Bay can be distinguished by the fascinating sheer limestone karsts rising out of the water. The bay is also home to many tiny beaches, hidden caves, the floating village of Koh Panyee, and James Bond Island, named so for its role in the movie, The Man with the Golden Gun.
The best way to see the bay is to go on one of the popular sea-canoeing tours which allow access to mangrove swamps and grottoes which cannot be accessed by larger vessels. For a panoramic view of the bay, visitors can go to the Samet Nangshe Viewpoint, a 30-minute car ride from Phuket.
