Situated in the state of Mato Grosso in Brazil, the Parque Estadual Encontro das Aguas is also commonly known as Meeting-of-the-Waters State Park. Set at the confluence of the two meandering Amazonian rivers, this scenic park is known for its network of rich waterways namely the Rio Negro with its dark waters and the muddy sandy waters of the Rio Solimoes whose waters run separately for several kilometres. The park forms part of the natural Pantanal region encompassing the world's largest tropical wetland area. Commonly spotted wildlife includes: jaguars, capybara, and alligators. Visitors can look forward to guided excursions through the beautiful wilderness, boat trips up the sparkling rivers and camping expeditions into the wild.
