The Emdoneni Cheetah Project began in 1994 with the purpose of rehabilitation, education and release of four of the seven big cat species of Africa. The project is funded solely by 2 daily guided tours at the Emdoneni Lodge, cat adoptions and from the owners. All funds are invested back into conservation to help ensure the continued survival of the four species.

Guests are invited to view the caracal (lynx), serval, cheetah and African wildcat, as well as see the feeding of the smaller cat species during the afternoon tour. A highlight for adult visitors is entering the cat enclosures with the guides.
