About Wat Aham
Wat Aham is a Buddhist temple located in Luang Prabang, Laos. The temple was established in 1818 on the location of an older temple dating back to 1527.
It is believed that a tutelary shrine was built here for worshipping two guardian spirits. The temple's exterior features porches and overlapping roofs.
The interior is colourful and filled with light which illuminates murals displaying Buddhist doctrines. Visitors can also view wooden masks which are used during the Lunar New Year celebrations.
