Part of the greater Cape Agulhas Wine Route, Elim Wine Route has earned a reputation in wine circles for its distinctive, unusual terroir that results in exceptional wines. Vineyards are peppered around this small historical town – established in 1824 as a Moravian Mission Station – and four wine producers in the area recently formed the Elim Winegrowers co-operation, a step that has ensured the region’s future as a wine destination in its own right.
