About The Silver Pagoda
Located in the southern part of the Royal Palace complex, the Silver Pagoda is a Buddhist temple.
The temple floors are covered with over 5,000 genuine silver tiles. Visitors can explore the temple which features a Buddha statue made of emerald, more than 1,600 art objects and traditional paintings adorning the walls of the gallery.
The Emerald Buddha sits on a throne in the centre of the temple and beside him is a glass cabinet believed to contain the ashes of the Buddha.
On the gallery wall is a painting depicting the Ream Ke period, measuring 642 metres long and 3 metres high. Visitors can walk in a circle to enjoy the full impact of the story being told.
