Located in the city of Manaus, Palácio Rio Negro is originally owned by Karl Waldemar Scholz a successful German entrepreneur. It was bought in 1918 by Pedro de Alcântara Bacellar who was the then Amazonas State governor. The complex then became the seat of government and the residence of many successive governors of the state. Today, Palácio Rio Negro is open to the public for tours, offering tourist the opportunity to admire the opulent furniture and artefacts.
