Situated in the Nakasongola district in the Central Region of Uganda, only 170 km northwest of Kampala, the Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Ranch is comprised of a 70-square-km expanse of pristine wilderness. This exceptionally beautiful savannah and wetland area is home to Uganda’s only wild Rhinoceros, with as many as 19 southern white rhinos roaming the sanctuary. Though primarily a rhino zone, the Ziwe Rhino and Wildlife Ranch also includes a diverse range of other animals and birds including, among others: leopards, bushbucks, hippos, monkeys, antelopes, crocodiles and the rare shoebill. Visitors can look forward to a range of outdoor activities such as rhino trekking, bird watching, and guided nature walks.
