Manuel Antonio National Park lies on Costa Rica's Central Pacific coast, about 7 kilometres from the fishing town of Quepos in Puntarenas Province. It is a compact coastal national park where lush tropical rainforest meets beaches, rocky headlands and offshore islands. The park is particularly appealing for its combination of wildlife and scenery: visitors can follow forest trails while looking for squirrel monkeys, white-faced capuchin monkeys, sloths, coatis and colourful birds, then relax on beaches such as Manuel Antonio and Espadilla Sur. Trails lead to viewpoints over the Pacific, while mangroves, marine habitats and a 14-hectare lagoon add to the park's ecological diversity.
