After breakfast, begin the tour of Belém with a visit to the vibrant Mercado do Ver-o-Peso, where colorful products from the Amazon's forests and rivers fill the market, showcasing the unique aromas and flavors of Pará. Then stroll through the historic Cidade Velha, exploring narrow streets that lead to the Complexo Feliz Lusitânia, home to the impressive Catedral da Sé, Museu de Arte Sacra, and the Museu do Encontro, which features Marajoara and Tapajônica ceramics from archaeological sites.
Next, we drive to Praça da República and visit Theatro da Paz, a remnant of the rubber boom era hosting opera and theater performances. Lunch is at Point do Açaí (not included), situated in a beautifully restored old house.
The journey continues to Mangal das Garças, an ecological park that beautifully replicates various Amazonian environments, complete with the iconic Farol de Belém, a Butterfly House, an Amazon Museum, and a river viewpoint.
