Huaca Pucllana is a clay pyramid located in the province of Lima, Miraflores district, in an easily accessible residential and commercial area. The site today, is a research, training and tourist attraction, running a permanent archaeological project, as well as educational activities throughout the year. Since it began in 1981, the research project has excavated the entire lower part of the site, and about two-thirds of the sides and top of the main building. Urban growth reduced the archaeological zone to an area of six hectares, slightly less than a third of its original size, according to historical documents.
