Kofukuji Temple, established in 669 by Kagami no Ōkimi, is a significant Buddhist site in Nara, Japan. Originally founded to pray for her husband's recovery, it was relocated several times before settling in its current location in 710. The temple has a rich history intertwined with the Fujiwara clan and has endured numerous reconstructions due to fires and political changes. Today, it remains an important centre for the Hossō School of Buddhism.
