andBeyond Ngala Tented Camp is situated in Ngala Private Game Reserve, which shares an unfenced boundary with the world-renowned Kruger National Park, South Africa’s largest wildlife sanctuary and one of the biggest game reserves in the world. A spectacular diversity of wildlife moves through this immense wilderness, including breeding herds of elephant, leopard, spotted hyena, giraffe, large buffalo herds and white rhino. With its name meaning lion in Shangaan, the local language, Ngala lives up to its promise, supporting several large prides of these powerful cats. African wild dog can also be spotted moving through the reserve.
Chic and contemporary, andBeyond Ngala Tented Camp is renowned for sophisticated tented accommodation in tranquil bush surrounds. It comprises nine luxurious tented suites set on raised platforms with outdoor showers, baths mounted on rough-hewn wooden bases, swirling overhead fans, air conditioning, electric blankets for winter and private wooden decks. The overall essence is African, with warm, earthy tones used throughout. Built on platforms, each tented suite is cleverly designed to blend into the riverside trees, minimising impact on the environment. andBeyond Ngala Tented Camp comprises nine luxurious tented suites set on raised platforms, cleverly designed to blend into the riverside trees, minimising impact on the environment. A new layout and an extended outdoor deck ensure tents are even more spacious and luxurious, with the addition of secluded outdoor spaces to while away the afternoon. Ensuite bathrooms with a courtyard, boast double vanities, both an indoor and outdoor shower, and an al fresco bathtub. Tents are equipped with overhead fans, air conditioning, and electric blankets for winter. Private wooden decks offer quiet spots for contemplation or comfortable spaces to read a book. Discrete butler hatches, outdoor screens and well-positioned pathways add an extra element of tranquility and privacy. The overall essence of each tent is African, with warm, earthy tones used throughout and magnificent views over the riverbed.

Enjoy early morning and late afternoon game drives that continue after nightfall. andBeyond’s professionally trained guides will ask you about your favourite wildlife and will do their best to ensure that your preferences are met, whether it is tracking a particular species or spending more time enjoying each sighting and getting to know the habits of the animals. They will also tell you about the vegetation of the region and will explain the behaviour of the animals that you come across. In some cases, the guides will be able to identify individual animals and let you know about their history and habits.
andBeyond Ngala Private Game Reserve is home to all of the Big Five, but is particularly well known for its large prides of lion and occasional sightings of wild dog, as well as large herds of elephant and buffalo. Photographic enthusiasts, from beginners to advanced, can now capture the wondrous landscapes and magical creatures of andBeyond Ngala Private Game Reserves, by taking advantage of a fully-equipped photographic safari vehicle. The vehicle has been fitted with state-of-the-art camera mounts and cater for a maximum of four guests, ensuring exclusivity during your safari experience.
Enjoy a once in a lifetime opportunity to get up close and personal with a rhino at andBeyond Ngala Private Game Reserve while assisting in the conservation of this rare species. This adventure allows guests to witness the capture and darting of a rhino and assist the veterinary team in tagging the sleeping animal for research and security monitoring. Groups of up to eight guests each (sharing the same vehicle) can participate in the entire process, from locating and darting the rhino by helicopter to the never to be repeated opportunity to touch the anaesthetised giant during the tagging procedure. Guests will need to spend a minimum of three nights at Ngala.
