Damaraland, with its flat-topped mountains, encompasses a vast, rugged wilderness in north-western Namibia. Nestled between the Skeleton Coast, Kaokoland, and Etosha, this sparsely populated and very scenic region is home to desert-adapted elephant and black rhino. The landscape features surreal rock formations adorned with ancient San rock art, petrified forests, the imposing Spitzkoppe mountain, and the Brandberg Massif. It has no national parks, but does boast a collection of game reserves and concessions with remote safari lodges offering opportunities to spot lion, cheetah, giraffe, and more, in this captivating environment.
