The King’s Palace in Nyanza is a reconstruction of a traditional royal residence, featuring a thatched structure shaped like a beehive. It reflects Rwanda’s monarchical history, when the court moved between locations before settling in Nyanza. The site includes long-horned Inyambo cattle, descended from the royal herd, which are tended by keepers who sing to them. These cattle were once trained for ceremonial parades and continue to be bred under the Rwanda Agriculture Board.
