Once a legendary mountain associated with dragons, today the Pilatus is a popular excursion point, viewing platform and place of adventure at the door to Lucerne. And here the world’s steepest cog wheel railway runs from Alpnachstad through the woods, fields and walls of rock on a maximum 48 percent climb. Gondola rail and a cableway on the north side unite Kriens with Pilatus Kulm.

High ropes park and the longest toboggan run on the Fräkmüntegg, rock gallery, ibex observations and short hikes to the Tomlishorn as well as newly renovated Hotel Pilatus-Kulm add further adventure to scenic excursions to Lucerne’s home mountain above lovely Lake Lucerne.
