Inspired by the flavours and vibrancy of South East Asian street food and hawker markets, Hawker House is an expression of love in food form for a region and people we’ve come to greatly admire and respect. Owned by Matt & Tania Bouterey the food focus is Asian, using vege hand-picked by Matt from the farm, delicious cuts of meat and big vibrant flavours.
THE FOOD
Hawker House is a place where fresh flavours and local ingredients are matched with regional wines and beer. The best way to get a taste of everything is to share and our dishes are sent out from the kitchen when they are ready. To really kick the evening off, start with a sparkling sake or one of our cocktails, inspired by Old Shanghai and Singapore, with fresh, seasonal fruit. There are three dining options – the raised Chef’s Dining area and Chef’s Dining Room. Both can be booked (sittings at 6pm and 8pm – groups over 8 please enquire). The rest of the space is real Hawker-style – no reservations and casual is the name of the game.
