The Elim Dune is known to be the longest dune in the Sossusvlei region and is just located 5 km past the Sesriem entrance gate. The dune takes its name from a farm that used to be in the area before the National Park was established. Today Elim Dune is probably the biggest sandpit, offering visitors of all ages much pleasure playing in the sand, climbing the easy gradient of the ever extending dune and taking breathtaking photographs of sunrise, sunset and all other spectacular sights.
