The town of Joal Fadiout is a commune in the region of Thiès in Senegal and is located south-east of Dakar. The town has a large population of Muslims and Christians and features granaries built on stilts in the water. It also boasts one of the largest fishing harbours in the country with most of the income coming from fishing, tourism and agriculture.
