Chinese Hat, also known as Sombrero Chino, is a small volcanic islet located off Santiago Island in the Galapagos. Formed by a spatter cone from an ancient eruption, it features striking geological formations, including lava tubes and flows. The visitor trail begins at a beach frequented by sea lions, Sally Lightfoot crabs, and marine iguanas, and leads past lava fields with lava cactus. Calm waters nearby offer opportunities to observe reef sharks and, occasionally, Galapagos penguins.
