The Tauern Cycle Trail, or ' Tauernradweg', stretches over 300 kilometres, at the foot of the impressive Hohe Tauern, along the largest rivers in the county, Salzach and Saalach, to Salzburg and further on to Passau. Cyclists can enjoy the impressive panorama of the Hohe Tauern, dip their feet in the cool waters of Lake Zell, and look up at the entrance to the Ice Caves, all while experiencing the relaxation of the Salzach and the humming of their tires. There is also the choice to cycle back to Zell am See via Lofer, or to continue along up to Passau. Either way, the Tauern Cycle Trail is an experience every cyclist should have at least once.
