The Netherlands Open Air Museum is set on 44 hectares in Arnhem. The open-air museum's collection consists of 153,000 historical items, such as farm wagons, home textiles, jewellery, regional dress, toys, antique houses, and historical buildings. Highlights of the museum include the working-class cottage from Zandeweer, where visitors may watch a presentation about knitting for soldiers in the First World War, and the Boerderij Varik display of a farmer's wife cooking on an old-fashioned coal stove.
