Enjoy visits to award-winning wineries around the Cape Kidnappers area. The Hawke’s Bay is one of the New Zealand’s most acclaimed wine regions and also one of New Zealand's best, year-round cycling destinations. The lime sand trails are wide, smooth and mostly flat and with your professionally trained cycling guide showing you the way, you will cycle along the off-road trails past vineyards, olive groves, orchards and farmland and enjoy tasting some of Hawkes Bay’s finest wines.
Today's 18km/11mile route starts at the acclaimed wineries of Elephant Hill and Clearview Estate with stunning views of Cape Kidnappers. After riding down the coastal trail, join the Tukituki river trail for a 10km cycle inland through orchard country to the boutique winery of Black Barn in Havelock North and Te Mata Estate. A short ride over the hill takes you to the world-class Craggy Range under the spectacular vista of the Tukituki River on one side and the Giants Te Mata Peak on the other. *Specific wineries are subject to change based on availability. Please pay direct for lunch offered at Black Barn or Craggy Range and bring your camera, hat, sunglasses, wind jacket, comfortable clothes and sturdy footwear.
